John Benjamin was born in 1972 at Moody Air Force base in Valdosta, GA where his father was stationed. His family stayed just long enough for young JB to acquire a thick southern accent and predilection for watermelon, then they migrated north. The rest of his formative years were spent in central Pennsylvania, where he grew up and went to college. Graduating with a B.S. in Music Education from Millersville University, JB instantly discarded any notion of using his newly-developed powers for good and instead began a career as a Technical Writer.
Contrary to popular belief, he did not become a dotcom millionaire. Instead, he moved to Atlanta, GA where everyone goes when they're on the way someplace else. Not our JB though. He thinks he's arrived or something, and plans to stay put for a while.
He makes the music you'll find on this site in his home studio when he's not busy feeling superior, writing instructions for the ungrateful masses, or scribbling self-centered blog entries which he guilt-trips his friends into reading.
He spends the rest of his free time cleaning and looking for cheap art to hang on the walls of his home near the East Atlanta Village.
