A funny kind of yellow
Flashed across the sky
Set the trees on fire
Lighting up the night
Mothers told their children of it
Years and years gone by
Lovers read their stars above it
Light years high

A laser burns the brightest
Of all the man made lights
Bright enough to feel it
Through the doubt that clouds an eye
Blasting through the heavens only
Home to satellites
Past a lonely nebula
And God

Into twilight
Boundary slows

Arrogance knows

Frightened earthlings scatter
Doomed by glancing blows
Innocent illusions shatter

Images of radiation
